Koryu Uchinadi

The Koryu Uchinadi drills practiced at Hoover Martial Arts Center were developed by Patrick McCarthy, Hanshi of Australia.  The drills focus on responses to Habitual Acts of Physical Violence (HAPV).  These two person combative forms assist students in flowing through the application principles that are found within kata and use these principles as templates for defense scenarios.  Responses include, but are not limited to, trapping, joint lock and manipulation, pressure points, ground work, as well as various forms of impact. Students at HMAC have found these drills to be excellent pathways into a more advanced understanding of kata movement and application principles.
